Hi folks,

I drove from Wanaka to Te Anau. Long drive with beatiful country side but ... long road some time and one of them I was going 130 instead of 100 and I passed a car that was ... guess ... yeah a cop but it didn't have anything saying it on the car. Bim he stopped me and I got a fine. Well, shit happens. I arrived in Te Anau pretty pissed and walked around the lake to decompress.

Sorry for the delay between my last post and now, I had some bad weather in Te Anau and not much to do. Milford Sound road was closed due to the weather when I wanted to go there ... such a disappointment. No luck on that side but I told myself that I could not leave NZ without going there. So I spent one day driving to Milford Sound, waiting 2h in the car to learn that the tunel won't be opened before 2pm and driving back to Te Anau without seing much.

I left Te Anau telling myself that I won't recommand spending any time there. Better to go to Queenstown directly and take a coach to go to Milford Sound, what I actually did today. Before telling you about it, I spent two days in Queenstown between doing hikes, going to Glenorchy and Snowboarding one day. Snowboarding wasn't amazing but it was fun. The ski resort is super small, three lifts and the snow wasn't the best I have ever snowboard on and it was quite expensive but I am still waiting tomorrow for the Heliski. That should be amazing.

Back to Milford Sound, I woke up at 6am this morning. Breakfast, preparing my bag and hop, at 7, I was in the coach. It took us almost 3 hours to go to Te Anau where we had a quick break. I told myself: Again, this city ... shoot (to stay polite :) ) ... and I was just waiting to leave. 30 mins later, we were back on the road and we had an other 3 hours to go to Milford Sound with various stops for photos with for example the mirror lake, see what it is below.

When we finally arrived to Milford Sound, the drive told us that after the cruise, we should be back to Queenstown around 8pm. So from 3pm30 to 8pm in the bus with a stop again in Te Anau. WAIT WHAT, that much time and again Te Anau????? BUT the driver told us the other option, flight back in a small plane on top of the mountain with a beautiful view on the ford. I though about it for 2mins ... not really, 20 seconds and I chose the plane. IT ... WAS ... SUCH ... A FLIGHT and SIGHT. I let you see by yourself on those few pictures.

Now I am back in Queenstown with stars in my eyes and waiting for tomorrow morning for the Heliski where I think it will just finish to blow my mind.

Cheers,

Ben
