After leaving Auckland and taking the road to Rotorua, I stoped on the way to Karangahake Gorge. It's a former gold mine that has been shutdown. It's in the mountain close to a river. It was amazing. Walking through caves, through a tropical forest even though we are in winter. Quite an experience. After such an experience, I had a lovely lunch by myself in the authentic cafe near the mine. A fireplace, a cat, food, coffee, what else do I need...

Leaving that lovely place, I went to Rotorua. I realise later than I took the wrong way and missed the Hobbiton. It's a bummer but you can not have it all. When you arrive in Rotorua, you see that this place has a lot of fun stuff to do. Unfortunately, I didn't have much time to do it all so I went for the Maori tribe village tour. It was very interesting with lovely landscape. I saw a natural geyser and that was awesome but it wasn't the best of the day.

I finished by a walk in Rotorua near the lake and I went to the Spa... Let me draw you the picture: long day of walking outside, you are exhausted, you changed yourself and you find yourself in a hot spring pool with water between 36-42 degrees and the moon with stars and lucky me the longest shooting star I have ever seen.

I will try to add the pictures as always but it seems that I need to pay the website at some point to be able to add more pictures. Of course :).

A bientot,
