There we go, we finally started the trip to the region Guajira. So far we have been pretty lucky with all the trip and today we had some bad luck. The car broke after 1h driving. We manage to go to Riohacha where we had a small breakfast and where we waited three hours for our guide to come back with the car. No news except if we call him, saying ready in 20 mins and not there two hours later. Anyway, it was a bad first morning on this trip but toy know me, optimistic always :).

Finally, he came back and we were on the road again. We stopped at Manaure to see the sea and the salt production. We saw the city of Uribia that is the capital of Indogina in Colombia and we finally arrived at Cabo de la Vela around 3-3h30pm. Pretty late but we were there. We hate a lunch and went directly to the first sight seeing: the Pilon de Azul. Its quite breathtaking when you see from there the valley and the landscape. Amazing views. We then took the car to go to the Faro for the sunset. On the way there, we got stuck in the sand like I used to see on TV during the Paris-Dakar. Two Wayuu (natives from the region) came to help and in 15mins, we were back on the road. It was a fun experience.

From the faro, we had an other great view of the sunset over the sea. We saw a lot of gringos at this stop and after 30mins, we went back to the hostel where we had to fight with the owner, a lady that wasn't very comprehensive, about some stupid stuff and she didn't want to give us a discount for the wait at Riohacha. Finally, we agreed on something, followed by few beers in the next bar with Cécile, a dinner, and a shower with a bucket of water. What a change of life. Its refreshing actually :).

It's already the morning with the alarm that was on at 4h30 am. We woke up, stretched, and get ready for the day. The sun rise is amazing. The SUV arrives and we left cabo with two older Spanish people that where later on so annoying.

We ride through the desert and through dirt roads where kids are stopping us with ropes to get candies. We met at the first stop an other car with six gringos in it. We started to sympathise with them and we spend the full day together. There was a French girl (always an other French, two German girls, a Australian/Swiss guy, a Portuguese guy, and a English guy. Quite a funny group. We got along really well and had a blast that day. We visited Puntas gaillinas with the norther point of South America. We saw beautiful beaches, and even some flamingoes. We finished the day by drinking almost the beers they had at the hostel from 6pm to 2am.

Next morning, we woke up from our hamacs and left the site to go back to Palomino but it was such a disaster. The guy didn't show up, someone else came, the car broke down, we didn't go all the way there and had to take different cars to finally arrive at Palomino. A good night of sleep and tomorrow let's go back to Bogotá for a week.

Cheers followers ;)
