On the way back to the south, I stopped one day in Lima. It was during the cencus of Peru and no Peruvians were allowed to be outside. Unfortunately, all museum and places were closed but the city was empty and it was really funny to see a city of that size without anyone running or driving around. Imagine Paris without a single soul outside except few policemen.

Next morning, I took a bus to meet with Jordan in Ica. We decided to stick together since we were doing the same tour. Arriving at the hostel, I checked out my room, met with JD as I like to call him, and we decided to go to the oasis Huacachina for sandboarding and buggies tour. It was a great idea. The oasis is such a sight and going around the sand dunes in a buggie is like a small roller-coaster. About the sandboard, we were not allowed to stand on it so we lay down on the biggest slope and stand on it for the small one where the guide could not see us. The sun set on the sand was beautiful as well. Pictures attached to show you. Definitely worst stopping in Ica to do this.

Next day was relaxing, small tour in the city before playing ping-pong and pool table at the hostel drinking some beers. So nice to enjoy a day without anything planed.

The third day was Paracas and the islas del boletas. We took a bus early morning to go see the pelicans, pingouins, the sea lions, and other birds. It was so nice to see the small pingouins. A bunch of them jumped in the water to go fishing when we arrived. The rest of the day, we saw some beautiful beaches and landscapes. It was the ocean, the desert, and us with pelicans of course. I tried my first ceviche. I have to say, it's pretty good and filling.

To sum up Ica, it's a pretty cool place to chill. It's pretty warm with temperatures between 19 to 29. You have some activities to do around and the hostel we were at (Ica adventures 2), had an amazing breakfast for free.

I really start to feel happy of what I am doing and I realize the chance I have to be able to see this part of our world. So many different places with their own cultures, kind people, amazing sights. I am truly blessed. I can tell you that I am enjoying it 100%.

See you for the next articles about Arequipa and the canion del coca. That should be something.
