Buenos días,

I am already in my third week in Peru. Time flies. I just left Arequipa for cusco. Let's move back few days. I arrived on Friday at Arequipa around 2am. We went to the Wild Rover hostel where we crashed in our bed for few hours. We enjoyed a breakfast near the pool and started to plan the next day for the colca canyon. When everything is booked, we enjoyed a tour of Arequipa followed by a football game with some Peruvians and backpackers.

Next morning, alarm at 2am and be ready at 3am. 3 hours of driving and we arrived at the canyon where we spotted some condors. We started hiking down for some hours before arriving to the lunch place. From there, we followed the river toward the oasis. What a view!! It's apparently the deepest canyon in the world.

After few more hours of walking, we arrived at the oasis. See below. It's so funny to see cactus and dry mountains with green grass and swimming pools. We enjoyed few hours of sun but at 8pm, we are all ready to go to bed because next morning at 5am, we go back up: 1000m for 5km. It was quite a challenge but you feel great after it. Small breakfast with the group and then direction the hot springs... Yeah the hot spring with a warm weather. It was actually very nice to enjoyed some warm water after all the hikes and the dust.

We finished the weekend with some hours of bus before being back in Arequipa. From there we took a night bus to cusco and here I am. Now let's plan the Machu Pichu. One of the thing I really want to do.

See you soon for a debrief of this new adventure.

Cheers,
